Chassis Removal Instructions for Sony model KV-19TR20

Make sure that the TV has been UNPLUGGED for Two (2) or more hours.

Remove the Five (5) screws holding the back cover in place.

Two (2) at the top, Two (2) on the bottom sides and One (1) at the jack pack.

Remove the A.C. connector, location indicated in picture # 2.

Remover the Degausser connector, Picture # 3.

Remove the Audio connector from the Audio board, picture # 4.

Remove the CRT connector indicated by picture # 5.

Remove the front Yoke connector, some models have a small release on the side of the connector, if so press the release and then pull the connector off of the chassis.  Shown in picture # 6.

Remove the rear Yoke connector, some models have a small release on the side of the connector, if so press the release and then pull the connector off of the chassis.  Shown in picture # 7.

The Second Anode lead will need to be removed from the picture tube, Pictured in # 8.

Using a large flat blade insulated screwdriver slide it gently under the Second Anode lead cap.  You should feel a metal spring clip, push in on the spring clip and the cap should release mechanically (held now only by some suction). Shown in pictures # 9 and # 10.

Holding the Anode lead, as shown in picture # 11,  slide and pull at the Anode lead and it should pull free from the picture tube.

Last step, remove the Anode lead (red wire) from the plastic harness clips by twisting the clips until they open freeing the red wire of the Second lead.  Shown in picture # 12.

The Chassis should now slide straight back in its side track.  Gripping the chassis with one hand on either side carefully (don’t lift until the chassis is out of the side tracks) pull back towards yourself.  When the chassis is clear of the side slides/tracks it can be lifted and is now free of the TV cabinet.

Please wrap each chassis in bubble wrap (or something to protect them) as they are very fragile and prone to damage.  Flexing and bending can crack the board.

Thank you very much and I will be in touch as far as the sale of the TV’s we now have.
